Broken Almansa, Solid Cedar Top Classical

Pretty proud of this novice restoration. My kid’s school has a pretty good guitar program, of course mostly using good sturdy Yamahas. A while ago they got a couple of very nice solid cedar top Almansa guitars to add to the mix. Well, good solid top guitars don’t mix well with rough junior high school students and an storage room that is not climate controlled. Both Almansa guitars broke, the top simply split right down both sides of the neck and the neck block folded in. One guitar also had been pretty badly destroyed in other places too. They were both destined for the bone yard, so I convinced the guitar teacher to let me try and rescue the one by cannibalizing bits of the other one. I cut pieces out on one of the cedar tops to make bracing and cleats for the other. The photos below show the damage and the repair progress.
