Family Farm Fiddle Fix

I have no idea how old this violin is, or if it has any monetary value, but it’s been around my family for a minimum of three generations. It belonged to my Aunt’s father and she grew up in the war years listening to him play it on the farm. My aunt passed a number of years ago and my Uncle recently asked me if I could do anything to fix it.

So, I honestly don’t know the first darn thing about violins. But, if you’ve followed my blog, you’ll note that I often don’t know the first darn thing about whatever it is that I have in my hands. So …. what the heck I say, let’s see what we can do.

I made a short YouTube video of the restoration and I think it turned out wonderfully! The background music for the video was played on the restored violin and was played by cousin of mine. Thanks Randi, you absolutely nailed it for me!!
